Directer R Balki reveals why Dulquer salman was the perfect match for his upcoming movie Chup. The psychopath thriller film Chup starring Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanvantri will release on September 23, 2022. Filmmaker R Balki released the teaser of Chup on the birthday of Bollywood legend Guru Dutt. Paying tribute to him, the teaser directly shows the critical acclaim the legendary director received for his masterpiece Kaaaj Ke Fool. The recently released trailer of Chup has received a lot of appreciation from the fans. Talented actor Dulquer Salmaan will be seen in the lead role in R Balki’s Chup: The Revenge of the Artist. R Balki recently opened up about why he chose Dulquer Salmaan for his film.
R.K. played the role of Dulquer in Chup. Balki said, “For Mauna, I was lucky to have a superstar whose half of the country spoke Hindi as their mother tongue and it was a great find for other parts of the country. . I wanted to get a senior new face to Hindi cinema with acting prowess and then I found Dulquer. I narrated the script to them on Zoom during the lockdown. We met for thirty minutes in Cochin and then I didn’t have to do any readings or workshops with him directly on set.
Actor Dulquer Salmaan plays versatile roles and plays them with utmost dedication. His diverse roles Kurup – Nov ’21 – Malayalam, Hey Sinamika – March ’22 – Tamil, Salute – March ’22 – OTT and Seetha Raman – August ’22 – Telugu highlight his roles coming from the live slate. With R Balki’s thriller, the actor added another to his list.
It is the first film for Chup R is Balki’s in the blood and murder genre. A thriller of global significance, the film is conceptually said to be a world first. Balki’s films always pique the interest of fans, critics and peers as his subjects often grab the headlines.
The film’s power-packed cast includes Sunny Deol, south cinema superstar Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwantri, who made her mark with Scam: 1992, and Pooja Bhatt, who recently returned in a big way with Bombay Begum. The movie Chup is directed by R Balki and produced by company Hope Productions and late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. Based on a story he started working on a few years back, the film is scripted by R Balki himself. The screenplay and dialogues are co-written by R Balki, critic-writer Raja Sen and Rishi Veermani.
Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios) is presenting the film while Pen Marudhar is handling the pan-India distribution. The music directors are Amit Trivedi, Sneha Khanwilkar and Aman Pant and DOP(Director Of Photography) is Vishal Sinha. Co producer for the film are Anirudh Sharma and Pranab Kapadia. The movie is ready to release on September 23rd.
